Youth Look Up, Step Up Recollection Activity

Senior High School Students from different public schools in the City of Taguig participated in "Youth Look Up, Step Up Recollection Activity" which aims to raise awareness on the importance of personal well-being, self-awareness, socializing, and solidarity.

The recollection will help them prepare for the next phase of their lives.

Youth Goes to U

Bringing educational and youth programs closer to the students through visiting different universities in the City.

The Local Youth Development Office organized workshops on preparing CV and resume writing, public and impromptu speaking, and how to look pleasant during meetings and gatherings.

Fun and adventurous activities were also prepared to make the experience memorable for the students such as:

• Isang paa, isang gulong
• Jump Box
• Active Transport Challenge (biking)
• Basketball shoot
• Mountain Climbing

Youth Trade Bazaar

The Taguig Youth Trade Bazaar was organized by the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation last August 14, 2024 at Taguig City Employee's Park.

The bazaar showcases young Taguigeño entrepreneurs' products like food and beverages, handicrafts, and thrifted items.

The City of Taguig aims to raise awareness that anyone can start a business even at a young age.

Skills for Success: Out-of-School Youth

Joint project of Sangguniang Kabataan and Taguig Manpower Training and Assessment Center (TMTC) that offered basic knowledge and essential skills in Basic Bread Making, Basic Pastry Making, Preparation and Serving of Coffee Beverages, 5S Lean Workplace and Good Housekeeping, and Installation of House Wiring Systems.

More than 100 out-of-school youth completed the 3-day training program and received certificates and starter kits to help launch their businesses.

Special Program for the Employment of Students and Out-of-School Youth (SPES)

SPES is a program of the City of Taguig in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) that encourages young people aged 15-30 years old to make their free time productive and have additional funding for their studies.

Students, out-of-school youth, and dependents of workers who have lost or will lose their jobs are invited to apply and submit an Application Form to the City's Public Employment and Services Office.

Qualifications:

• Age 15-30 years old
• The parents' annual income together with their income, if any, will not exceed the annual poverty threshold of Php 144,360.00 (PSA, 2021)
• No failing marks in the previous and current semester

Youth Volunteerism Program

The Taguig Youth Development Office has introduced HYPE Taguig (Harnessing Youth's Participation and Energy), a youth volunteer program aligned with the City's Caring agenda. This initiative encourages young Taguigeños to explore volunteer opportunities that match their interests and schedules.

Participants will have the chance to connect with like-minded peers, make new friends, and develop their leadership skills while cultivating a sense of civic responsibility.

Hiraya Youth Development Center

The Hiraya Youth Development Center is a two-story facility located along Laguna Lake Highway in Barangay New Lower Bicutan. It is open from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (closed on holidays). Walk-ins are welcome; no registration needed.

The center aims to empower young Taguigeños through volunteerism, skills training, and community engagement. It provides opportunities for the youth to explore their interests, connect with peers, and participate in activities that promote personal growth, leadership, and social responsibility. The center is a partnership between the City of Taguig, LoveYourself Inc., and Pia Wurtzbach-Jauncey to deliver integrated services and programs focused on the youth.

• Library area

• Infographics for Mental Health, Adolescent Health, Tobacco Control, and STI Prevention
• Lobby for receiving area for guests and a quiet alternative space when the Activity Center is full
• Conference Room for meeting or special events (requires prior approval via letter request to City Hall)
• Open area for dance practices, filming, schoolwork, light workouts, and stretching

Ball games are not allowed to avoid damage to the glass walls.

• Share and take turns with games and equipment.
• Keep food and drinks away from game tables, books, and art materials.
• Smoking, vaping, and illegal substances are strictly prohibited.
