
The City of Taguig grants a Php 1,000 birthday cash gift to registered People With Disabilities (PWDs) through the enactment of the City Ordinance No. 18 Series of 2017.

The City of Taguig has initiated a house-to-house distribution of its Special Needs Assistance program, providing an additional ₱2,000 in cash aid to 35,522 registered persons with disabilities. This initiative is supported by Ordinance No. 194, which allocates ₱1,000 in cash assistance every July for National Disability Rights Week and an additional ₱1,000 every December for the International Day of Persons With Disabilities to eligible individuals.
The Special Needs Assistance program aims to enhance the quality of life for persons with disabilities by promoting inclusion and enabling them to lead fulfilling and independent lives. It also seeks to bolster their social and economic participation within the community. To qualify, beneficiaries must be residents of Taguig, aged 0 to 59 years, and registered with the Taguig City Persons with Disability Registry, maintained by PDAO.


The orientation was conducted in every barangay to raise awareness to Persons With Disabilities about their rights and benefits offered by the City. The event highlighted key provisions of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), emphasizing the importance of empowering them through accessible services and programs.

Located at Ipil-ipil Street, Barangay North Signal, the Taguig Disability Resource and Development Center is a 6-storey facility that offers free speech therapy, adult and pediatric physical therapy, occupational therapy, and consultations with a rehabilitation medical doctor and developmental pediatrician.
It can also host free livelihood and developmental training programs.

Led by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), Mega job fairs and livelihood seminars are conducted to give opportunities to PWDs. Livelihood training program are taught such as:

In partnership with the Taguig Manpower Training and Assessment Center (TMTC), the program offered ham-making and barista training for Persons With Disabilities, aiming to build their confidence and independence.
Each participant received a starter kit containing essential tools and materials for their chosen field to start a small business.



The City of Taguig, led by the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) and Taguig Manpower Training and Assessment Center (TMTC), held a two-day training program for persons with intellectual disabilities, their parents, and caregivers which aims to provide practical livelihood skills and promote inclusive opportunities.
The training included practical cooking sessions facilitated by instructors, where participants learned how to make banana pao, beef puto pao, beef siomai, beef patties, and chocolate chip cookies. They learned easy and affordable recipes ideal for small home-based businesses.
Each completer received a certificate of completion, an electric oven, two (2) kilograms of rice, and starter kits containing tools to start a small business.

The Special Olympics, led by the Persons With Disabilities Affairs Office (PDAO), Taguig Yakap Center for Children with Disabilities, and Taguig Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Center (TPMRC), celebrated with individuals with Down Syndrome together with their supportive and loving families to honor their talents and unique abilities.

As part of the celebration of the 46th National Disability Rights Week, Taguig Color Fun Run celebrates equality and unity while enjoying the colorful fun run. Over 800 participants took part in the one-kilometer and two-kilometer runs.
This colorful fun run aims to recognize the talents of our extraordinary community members.

Officers of the Barangay Association of Persons With Disabilities of Taguig City (BAPDTC) from 38 barangays joined the workshop with face-to-face sessions, practical demonstrations with deaf individuals, and virtual sessions about FSL fundamentals.
This workshop aims to designate a focal person or FSL interpreter in each barangay to better support and facilitate communication with our deaf and mute community.
